British Columbia QSO Party 2010 - Sponsored by The Delta Amateur Radio Society

OBJECT

Stations outside of British Columbia to work only B.C. stations in the 36 B.C. Federal Electoral Districts.

Stations in B.C. to work anyone in the 36 B.C. Federal Electoral Districts, Canadian provinces, U.S. states, and DX countries.

CONTEST PERIOD

The contest starts Feb 6, 2010 at 1600Z Saturday, and runs for 16 hours until 07:59Z Sunday Feb. 7, 2010. Operators may operate all 16 hours of the contest.

FREQUENCIES & MODES

- Contest bands: 160m to 10m, no WARC bands.

- Contest modes: SSB, CW, Digital

(Any computer-to-computer mode is considered digital. Only one digital contact may be made with a station on each band.)

Suggested Frequencies:

- CW - 1840, 3550, 7045, 14050, 21050, 28050 kHz.

- Phone - 1850, 3825, 7260, 14225, 21380, 28380 kHz. (check for US General)

CLASSES

Single-Operator, All Bands (SOAB)

Multi:-Operator, All Bands

Modes: CW, Phone, Digital, Mixed

Power: QRP - 5 watts or less; Low - up to 100 watts; High - over 100 watts.

GENERAL RULES

Use of packet spots is allowed in all classes.

Requests to be spotted or self-spotting is prohibited in all classes.

EXCHANGE

British Columbia stations send: RS(T) and District (three letter abbreviation)

Non-British Columbia stations send: RS(T) and State, Province, territory or DX.

QSO POINTS

2 points for Phone QSOs

4 points for CW and Digital QSOs

The same station may be worked for QSO points on each band on Phone, CW, and Digital.

MULTIPLIERS

For all entrants: 36 British Columbia electoral districts (see multiplier on top menu).

For BC stations: 13 Canadian provinces/territories: NL, PE, NS, NB, QC, ON, MB, SK, AB, BC, YT, NT, NU.

Multipliers can be counted only once per band and mode.

SPECIAL BONUS STATION

Any QSO with the Delta Amateur Radio Society's station, VE7SUN, will be worth 10 points. Bonus points are added after all other score is calculated.

SCORING

Total = (QSO points from all bands X total multipliers) plus special bonus station points.

LOGS

Logs must show Date, and time in UTC, Band, Mode, Station worked, Exchange sent and received,

QSO points claimed, new multipliers worked.

Dupe sheets are required for logs showing 200 or more QSO’s.  However, if the log was generated by a contest logging program no dupe sheet is required.

Summary sheet listing QSO totals and QSO points totals for each mode, multipliers and final claimed score.

Logs generated by any contest software are acceptable, but plain ASCII files are acceptable as long as they show the above QSO data. 

Electronic submissions as a separate attachment are encouraged, but can include the summary sheet in the body of email message.

Entries MUST BE POSTMARKED OR EMAILED NOT LATER THAN March 31.
